Heisman Trophy Trust
President or Chief Executive Officer (title commensurate with experience)
New York, NY
Reports to Chair of the Heisman Trophy Trust Board of Directors
Background:
The Heisman Trophy Trust seeks a transformational, visionary, leader— to steward the most iconic individual award in American sports and elevate its platform for greater cultural, philanthropic, and commercial impact. With 90+ years of history, the Heisman Trophy represents excellence, character, and tradition. Yet, today’s changing landscape demands evolution. The President/CEO will protect the integrity of the Heisman legacy while launching a bold new chapter: driving new revenue models, expanding year-round visibility, strengthening engagement and partnership with Heisman winners, and growing the Trust’s philanthropic impact.
Since its founding in 2005, the Heisman Trophy Trust has served a dual mission: to annually award the Heisman Trophy to the most outstanding college football player in the United States, and to provide charitable support to underserved youth across the country. The Trust manages a high-profile brand with national and global recognition, an endowment of more than $60 million, the iconic network of Heisman winners, and enduring partnerships with media, corporate sponsors, and charitable organizations.
The Trust’s signature moment is the annual Heisman Weekend in New York City, but its potential spans far beyond. The President/CEO must modernize how the Trust engages sponsors, media, alumni, athletes, fans, and communities—transforming the Heisman from a seasonal award into a dynamic, year-round platform for influence and impact.
