Position Summary
The President shall serve as the commercial growth leader of Playfly Sports, constantly seeking (or inventing) new ways to drive growth from existing business lines, from new business strategies, new business partners and new business ventures. The President shall be responsible for day-to-day business acceleration organically, plus identifying and integrating strategic acquisitions, alliances, and operational efficiencies.
The President will also act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors. The President will oversee all three core business divisions (Media, Properties, Advisory & Services) while playing a critical role in determining Playfly’s growth plan and long term strategy and vision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Corporate Leadership Team, collaborating closely with the CEO, COO, CFO, General Counsel, board members, and other senior executives to shape and execute the organization's strategic direction and drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Oversee the main business divisions of the company: Media, Properties, and Advisory & Services.
- Manage business development team to bring in new partners for Playfly Sports.
- Manage revenue generation, drive overall business results, meeting budgets, focus on efficiency and effectiveness, and stimulate sales growth.
- Partner with COO and CFO to monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and procedures; assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identify and implement improvements.
- Evaluate complementary expansion areas build out college, high school and pro sports and emerging markets.
- Consistent delivery of innovative media, content, and sales initiatives to maintain and grow valued position with our partners.
- Drive integration of acquired business operations and culture.
- Support the CEO in development and assessment of company strategy and long-term vision.
- Implement the goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each of the divisions including compensation plans and rewards for identifying potential new business partners.
- Develop and implement new strategic sales and marketing plans across divisions.
- Assess and enhance sales, marketing, and business development approaches; establish new standards, processes, and methodologies to serve clients, sponsors, and partners while generating new profitable opportunities.
- Partner with COO and CFO to review financial analyses and proposals for new business opportunities and on large business decisions for the company
- Build strong relationships with media partners, brand advertisers, advertising agencies, athletic departments, college presidents, pro team owners/management and other stakeholders.
- Create and participate in strategic presentations to senior executives inside and outside the organization.
- Contribute to positive group culture to foster high performance, efficient processes and professional development.
- Participate in the development of the annual budget then oversee and manage business to execute on budget and is accountable for providing forecasting transparency and accuracy.
- Maintain and leverage weekly revenue reporting for current and future years; identify areas of strength and weakness, and potential shortfalls.
- Responsible for continuous development of new and creative ways to expand opportunities domestically and internationally.
- Mentor, coach, and empower senior leaders, building a high-performing and growth-oriented leadership team.
- Ensure organizational design, talent strategy, and leadership development support company growth and evolving needs.
- Partner with Finance and HR to review and hone compensation plans to ensure they match company objectives and maximize revenue growth annually.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in Sports Marketing & Media, Collegiate Sports or Pro Sports Management.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational and computer skills required.
- Strong work ethic - self-directed learner/starter.
- Creative and proactive problem solver.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and selected holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
- Goal oriented with proven sales success in developing, implementing, and leading profitable sales and marketing programs driving effectiveness with ability to convert at speed.
- Candidate should possess strong organizational skills and be able to function in a fast-paced multi-task environment.
- Must be a team player and be able to work to deliver results and support our culture and values.
Requirements
- Position may require occasional overnight travel.
- Extended periods of computer use required.
