The Fox Theatre is one of Atlanta's premier venues for live entertainment, welcoming more than 250 performances a year in its 4,665-seat theatre. From concerts to ballets, comedy, and movies, the historic venue attracts more than 500,000 visitors annually. The theatre also hosts over 100 annual private events like wedding receptions, trade shows, corporate meetings, and association functions in two fabulous ballrooms. The Fox’s premium Marquee Club, presented by Lexus, is a 10,000-square-foot, three-story luxury bar accessible to all Club Level ticket holders or annual members of the Fox Theatre. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization, the Fox Theatre stands today as a fiercely protected landmark and a nationally acclaimed theatre. About the Marquee Club Presented by Lexus 

The Marquee Club, presented by Lexus, is the Fox Theatre's premium club space open to Club Level seat holders or annual Members only. Adjacent to the theatre, the Moroccan and Middle Eastern-style club is 10,000 square feet of luxury space that includes five premium bars and three rooftop environments, including the climate-controlled Conservatory, patio-covered Arcade Terrace, and outdoor Rooftop Terrace. Open only during public events at the Fox Theatre, the Marquee Club offers a premium pre-show through post-show experience with benefits including early entry, private restrooms, 2 alcoholic beverages per event, pre-show food, onsite activations during select events, and more.  Additional amenities include priority pre-sale ticketing notifications, concierge guest services, and self-parking access to an adjacent lot for some membership levels.

Position Summary:

The Fox Theatre is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programming Manager to support the Director of Programming in the strategic booking and execution of concerts, comedy acts, family shows, and large-scale special events. This role is integral to the success of their programming team and requires a candidate with a proven track record in talent buying, event planning, and relationship management within a high event-volume venue(s) with a capacity of 1,000 seats or more. 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional professionalism, accountability, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A deep understanding of entertainment contracts, deal structures, and industry dynamics is essential.   

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Calendar & Communication Management 
    • Maintain and manage the venue’s programming calendar. 
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for agents, promoters, and internal departments. 
    • Ensure timely and professional communication across all stakeholders. 
  • Talent Buying & Booking Support 
    • Collaborate with the Director of Programming to identify and secure talent across genres. 
    • Proactively seek new programming opportunities that align with the theatre’s mission and audience. 
    • Support strategic outreach initiatives aimed at expanding culturally diverse programming, with a particular focus on engaging the Hispanic community and other underrepresented audiences. 
  • Contract & Financial Oversight 
    • Draft, review, and manage artist and rental contracts. 
    • Prepare and issue invoices, coordinate deposits and final payments with the accounting team. 
    • Track and manage PRO (Performing Rights Organization) obligations and payments. 
  • Client & Event Coordination 
    • Respond to rental inquiries and conduct due diligence before escalating to the Director of Programming. 
    • Assist in preparing internal offers and pre-settlements. 
    • Share responsibility for night-of-show settlements, following a monthly schedule. 

The key responsibilities of this role may change or expand as needed to include other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in programming or talent buying for venues with a capacity of 1,000 or more. 
  • Strong knowledge of entertainment industry contracts, deal structures, and event logistics. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with precision and accountability. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software is preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred, with advanced skills considered a strong asset.
