Position:
The Senior Director, Risk Management reports to the company’s Chief Legal Officer and is responsible for managing the company’s risk management, occupational health and safety activities, developing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for leading the risk management and health and safety teams. This role works closely with all departments to proactively identify and address potential risks and protect the organization’s assets. The role collaborates with the head of risk management at the company’s parent company on the company’s comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the enterprise’s reputation, safety, security, or financial success. This is a full-time, exempt position located at OC Sports & Entertainment, LLC’s ACC Office in Anaheim.
Position Description:
- Manage, plan, and coordinate company programs to control risks and losses;
- Identify, evaluate, and implement corrective action against risks that may result in injury, property loss, damage, or legal liability;
- Continue building out the risk and safety functions to support the larger set of operations as phases of the development continue to be activated;
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing risk management team, creating a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth and expertise;
- Analyze and classify risks according to frequency and potential severity, and measure financial impact of risk on the company;
- Deep coordination with the company’s legal department and head of risk management of company's parent company in development of enhanced resiliency and business continuity plan;
- Collaborate closely with senior executives, business leaders, and other departments to integrate risk management insights into strategic planning, decision-making, and day-to-day operations;
- Foster a culture of compliance, risk, and safety awareness across the organization by leading training programs, providing risk mitigation and transfer guidance, and ensuring employees at all levels understand the importance of managing business risks;
- Continue all-hands collaboration with the risk management teams of parent company and affiliate companies to continue fostering a unified approach and team;
- Serve as a key member of the crisis management team, providing guidance on risk-related issues during crises or unexpected events;
- Develop, coordinate, and provide training for staff in risk identification and avoidance measures;
- In coordination with the company’s legal department, manage and strategize claims handling, management, and administration;
- Prepare and present risk reports and proposals to executive leadership and the parent company’s head of risk management;
- Coordinate efforts to prevent or reduce loss-exposure conditions and activities involving unsafe working conditions, staff or patron accidents or injuries, claims and lawsuits against corporate or personal property;
- Evaluate insurance coverage required for adequacy under company guidelines and ensure all contracts are compliant and determine the appropriate indemnifications;
- Manage all data gathering needs from various departments to ensure smooth and timely policy renewals as well as enhancement of total cost of risk analysis and strategies;
- Oversee Cal-OSHA inspection of all the company’s facilities and coordinates to ensure risk situation is corrected;
- Analyze loss, risk management data, and make appropriate recommendations to Chief Legal Officer (General Counsel);
- Research and evaluate modern trends in safety and health, environmental loss control, risk management, employee benefits, cost containment strategies, and make recommendations to management based on findings;
- Coordinate with Security and Human Resources to develop and implement environmental, safety, and evacuation programs for the company;
- Recommend and implement safety incentive programs and facilitate safety training programs (such as proper lifting, ergonomics, defensive driving, CPR, first aid, AED, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field, Juris Doctorate preferred;
- Ten-plus years of risk management experience; live events, sports and entertainment, or real estate industries is preferred;
- Knowledge of preventative safety and security procedures;
- Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management;
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills;
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in Office 365 suite;
- Possess self-confidence, have teaching, mentoring, public speaking, training skills, and have an innovative and creative approach;
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills;
- Effective communication skills;
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels within the organization;
- Prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports and correspondence;
- Manage sensitive situations with compassion, tact, and confidentiality;
- Ability to identify and prioritize competing issues and objectives;
- Experience with insurance policies and working with legal counsel;
- Knowledge of monitoring loss trends to make corrective action recommendations;
- Excellent employee relations, problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making skills with a particular “team management” leadership style.

Ashley Eddy
General Counsel
Ashley Eddy recently joined OCVIBE as the General Counsel at OCVIBE, where she oversees legal, compliance, risk management, and health and safety operations.
Ashley brings deep expertise in complex regulatory environments, having previously served as Senior Vice President and Legal Counsel at MGM Resorts International, where she led litigation, privacy, cybersecurity, labor and employment matters, and regulatory compliance across a global enterprise. She began her legal career at a top-tier law firm and has distinguished herself as a collaborative leader who builds inclusive, high-performing legal teams.
Ashley holds a JD from the University of Texas School of Law and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Minnesota. She is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and served as Treasurer of the Vegas Strong Fund Board, playing a pivotal role in fundraising and establishing the permanent 1 October mass shooting memorial.
Francis Lam
Vice President & Deputy General Counsel
Francis Lam is Vice President & Deputy General Counsel at OCVIBE Sports and Entertainment, where he leads legal strategy across litigation, labor, and employment. Francis is an accomplished legal executive with over a decade of experience spanning high-profile companies and complex employment and litigation matters. Prior to this, he held senior legal roles at Bird, The Walt Disney Company, and Lyft, advising on a broad range of employment law issues in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Francis began his legal career at Sidley Austin LLP and gained early judicial experience as an extern for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Jesse Campbell
Vice President, Risk Management – OCSE
Jesse Campbell has extensive experience in risk management and legal affairs and serves as the Vice President of Risk Management for OCSE and the Anaheim Ducks. Prior to that, Jesse was the Director of Risk Management for SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. He also held similar roles as the Director of Risk Management for the San Francisco 49ers and as the VP of Risk Management for Entertainment Risk. Jesse’s earlier experience includes working as a Risk Analyst for Indemnity Insurance Corporation and as the Manager of Legal and Business Affairs for Cellfish. He has a JD from the American University Washington College of Law and began his career as a Music & Media Licensing Coordinator at Showtime Networks Inc.
