The Manager of PR & Communications of Relevent Football Partners (RFP) currently reports to the Chief Communications & Marketing Officer (CCMO). The role will work to build and articulate RFP’s narrative and value proposition in the industry, in turn driving and supporting the commercial goals of the business.  

This role will work closely with RFP’s commercial teams, sponsors and partners including UC3 and UEFA. The manager will support and develop pro-active PR initiatives and announcements, manage issues and crisis communication when needed and oversee RFP’s corporate digital presence, whilst helping to define and deliver RFP’s reputational strategy in trade and business press across the industry. 

An innovative thinker with a proven background in communications and previous experience working in sports, ideally international football, preferred. A clear understanding of the European and Global football industry is a must as well as an understanding of sports rights distribution and sponsorship sales. Previous experience supporting these areas from a communications perspective preferred.  

The Manager of PR & Communications will be based in RFP’s London office four days a week. Travel will be required. 

Key Responsibilities

  • With the CCMO, develop and implement a comprehensive B2B-focused Comms strategy aligned with RFP’s commercial objectives. 
  • Provide day-to-day management of RFP's press office, ensuring timely, accurate and effective responses to media enquiries. 
  • Manage monitoring, reporting and reputation performance measurement, overseeing services and systems. Track and evaluate media/social coverage and sentiment. Identify and respond to emerging reputational risks, keeping abreast of sector-wide topics and issues as well as competitor communications. Feed opportunities and intelligence back into the business to aid and support commercial aims.  
  • Oversee the management and shaping of RFP's corporate LinkedIn channels and corporate digital presence, including the website, ensuring delivery of consistent, credible and compelling communications that reflects RFP's values and football mission. 
  • Work closely with UC3, commercial partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and develop advocacy within the football business community. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media, partners, and internal stakeholders 
  • Execute strategic plan around RFP’s presence at industry conferences, including preparing executives for speaking engagements and panel appearances.  
  • Manage corporate awards program, working with teams across the business to develop compelling entries for relevant industry awards 

Required Experience & Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to synthesize complex information and craft nuanced, high-impact messaging 
  • Experience using monitoring and analytics tools to track and evaluate reputational performance. 
  • Fluency in social media creation (specifically LinkedIn) as well as monitoring these platforms.  
  • Experience working in sport, ideally with a media partner, governing body, major club, league, or sports communications agency 
  • Substantial understanding and knowledge of the football ecosystem, including UEFA's role within European and global football. Understanding of football media landscape, including broadcast partners, football journalists, and digital platforms 
  • Proven experience running a press office, with confidence handling challenging or high-risk media enquiries 
  • In-depth understanding of PR Channels, the international media landscape and the strategic role of digital platforms in shaping communications.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within sport and/or media. 
  • Understanding of and enthusiasm for football – especially European football.  
  • Multilingual capabilities a plus (particularly European languages) 
  • Familiarity with FIFA, UEFA, and national association protocols
