Position Summary:
The Vice President Safety and Training will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of workplace safety, employee training, and risk management within RockForce, promoting a culture of safety through comprehensive training programs and proactive risk mitigation strategies. Currently reporting to RockForce’s CEO, the VP Safety and Training will lead a team of professionals skilled in the industry and collaborate with senior management to develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and prioritize risks across the organization.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to address identified hazards.
- Monitor and track risk levels, making adjustments to mitigation strategies as needed.
Safety Management:
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures across the organization.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations (OSHA, local, etc.).
Training and Development:
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for all employees, including new hires, supervisors, and specific job-related safety training.
- Manage the training calendar and track employee completion rates.
- Develop and maintain training materials, including e-learning modules and presentations.
Leadership and Communication:
- Foster a strong culture of high performance and safety by promoting open communication and employee engagement.
- Collaborate with department heads to integrate high performance and safety considerations into daily operations.
- Communicate high performance and safety performance metrics and key safety initiatives to senior management.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and training completion.
- Generate regular safety reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in safety management, training development, and risk assessment
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey risk concepts clearly.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Background Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, risk management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
