Experienced Recruiter Hired as Managing Director
The team at Rochelle Park, New Jersey-based global executive search and human capital management firm ZRG Partners has brought in a fresh face to its executive ranks.
Lan Nguyen, an experienced recruiter based in New York City with over twenty years in management consulting and law, started at ZRG as managing director in mid-March. She was previously a partner at the New York City-based management consulting firm Ward Howell USA for two years. Nguyen’s last day at Ward Howell was in early February, she says, “before the firm rebranded and separated from Ward Howell International.”
A representative at Ward Howell USA did not respond to requests for comment.
“For years I’ve been advocating in executive search for smarter processes and tools through technology,” Nguyen tells 401kWire. “When I encountered ZRG’s data-driven platform, I was blown away.”
“ZRG encourages a highly collaborative work culture,” Nguyen continues, “where colleagues reach comfortably across industries and corporate functions. These kinds of partnerships and digital technologies offer me rich opportunities to grow my practice, especially into new areas of relevance where risk, analytics, and data meet in innovative ways.”
ZRG is led by Larry Hartmann, CEO since 2014, who tells 401kWire, “We are thrilled to have Lan join our team to bolster our global insurance practice. She brings extensive experience in the sector at a time when leadership matters more than ever for our insurance clients.”
Michael Castine, managing director at ZRG, says, “Lan’s executive search work in insurance, banking, corporate finance and risk, align with key areas where ZRG is seeking to strengthen its bench to better serve our clients. Lan works on top-of-the-house senior management roles as well as recruiting directors for boards. In addition, her focus on diversity and inclusion complements ZRG’s efforts.”
“I feel truly fortunate to have joined ZRG during this time,” Nguyen adds. “We all are adjusting to difficult environments and meeting challenges to maintain business continuity. ZRG provides me with an amazing platform to deliver digitally as we are already built to be remote and cloud-based, with digital tools for assessments and engagement to keep mandates advancing. While ZRG’s core business is executive search, I can better serve my clients with resources and capabilities that extend beyond traditional executive search.”
ZRG was founded in 1999. The company holds offices in North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. According to a press release, “ZRG’s analytical process and collaborative culture give us the competitive edge to provide our clients with the industry advantage.”
Prior to her work at ZRG and Ward Howell, Nguyen was managing director at the Ellig Group (previously Chadick Ellig) for five months, managing director at Chadick Ellig for seventeen years, and an associate at Heidrick & Struggles for less than a year. Nguyen is an alumna of Georgetown University and the University of Washington School of Law.
