Jeff DeBoer | Founding President & CEO, The Real Estate Roundtable
Jeff DeBoer, Founding President and CEO of The Real Estate Roundtable, provides an insider’s view of what to expect for the real estate industry going into the new Trump Administration.
Jeff and I sat down in his office, across the street from the White House, to record this conversation on December 4, 2024. For over forty years, Jeff has been the real estate industry’s preeminent lobbyist on the Hill, weathering the ups and downs of each administration. The Real Estate Roundtable acts as the umbrella organization for all types of real estate and includes the leaders of the major real estate sector associations as the big tent to coordinate the overall industry’s positions before Congress and the Administration.
Jeff and I discussed a broad range of issues, from tax policy to energy policy, immigration, tariffs, GSE reform and housing policy and other policy matters, all of which will affect the real estate industry as well as the overall economy. As with our other recent conversations with Steve Wechsler from NAREIT and Sharon Wilson Geno from NMHC, this conversation with Jeff reminds us to stay focused on the actions and tasks that will affect our industry during this next administration, rather than getting swept up in the day-to-day drama.
