The Sucherman Story
Stuart Sucherman founded the Sucherman Group in 1985 to exercise his expertise counseling media, entertainment, digital entertainment, and sports media leaders. Prior to the founding of the group, he was instrumental in establishing the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) and was the Executive Director of the Media and Society Seminars at The Columbia University School of Journalism.
Through many decades in the industry, Sucherman has helped change the media landscape as we know it today. They placed transformational C-suite executives at entertainment stalwarts like Viacom, CBS, ABC, Fox, NBC, CNN, Disney, and Sony.
In 2013, Erik Sorneson, former President of MSNBC and former Executive Producer of “CBS Evening News” took over day-to-day leadership as CEO, with Stuart Sucherman remaining onboard as Chairman. Under Erik’s leadership, Sucherman successfully expanded further into tech-focused entertainment brands, working with A24, Netflix, Spotify, Twitch, Snap, The Washington Post, and the NFL.
The firm expanded internationally in 2019, reaching clients in the UK, Singapore, Athens, Sydney, Dubai, and Johannesburg, among others. From streaming platforms like Paramount+ and Max to podcasting giants like Spotify and Audible, Sucherman has transformed along with the entertainment industry to stay ahead of consumer behavior and changes in technology.
Sucherman joined ZRG in 2021. In Erik’s words to clients at that time, “[Sucherman] continues to take the bespoke, unvarnished, discreet and client-centered approach that has distinguished us for three decades, while also greatly expanding our capabilities as part of ZRG.”
Today, the Sucherman team continues their trailblazing work as the Media & Entertainment practice group at ZRG.
