Richard Dowd joined ZRG in April of 2019 as a Managing Director in our Global Financial Officers practice. With over twenty years of experience in executive search, Richard has earned an enviable reputation among clients and contemporaries as one of the industry's most effective recruiters.
He manages senior-level searches for financial executives on behalf of some of the premier blue-chip companies and emerging firms in the United States. In addition to managing traditional searches, he consults regularly on trends in employment and human resources. Richard has received coverage from the Wall Street Journal, CFO Magazine, and Executive Recruiter News.
Previous Experience
Prior to ZRG, Rich’s entrepreneurial spirit helped guide the development and growth of Dowd Associates, a boutique executive search firm, where he was the President and CEO. Based out of White Plains, NY, the firm specialized in the recruitment of senior level financial professionals for companies and organizations spanning across all industries and sectors.

Richard is a key member of our Global Financial Officers’ practice as a known subject matter expert in Treasury search, and also has deep experience in VP’s of Finance, Controller, and CFO search work.
Education
Richard holds a BA History degree from Syracuse University.
Hobbies and Interests
Richard spends the bulk of his free time with his children Gabriele and Jason, playing golf, and cheering on the New York Rangers from section 226 of the Garden. His love of music was the inspiration for becoming one of the Founding Board Members of the Ilias Kementzidis Music Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to high school students looking to study music in college.
