Charlie Gray, a seasoned people strategy and operations executive, joined ZRG’s Embedded Recruiting division in 2023 as a Managing Director. Based in New York with nearly 30 years of experience, he has played a pivotal role in leading the people operations of technology, media, and healthcare companies.
In 2012, Charlie founded Gray Scalable, a leading consultancy in New York City specializing in comprehensive services for growing tech startups. Under his leadership, Gray Scalable became known for embedded recruiting (RPO), executive search, interim HR solutions, and compensation consulting. The company served over 200 early- to mid-stage companies, with notable clients including SoundCloud, BuzzFeed, and Skillshare.
Charlie holds a BFA in Music Performance and a BA in English Literature, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Beyond his professional endeavors, Charlie enjoys skiing, tennis, good food and good company, and is passionate about music, travel and his wife and two children, now adults living in Brooklyn pursuing their own careers and passions.
