
The Senior Associate Athletic Director/ Chief Financial Steward directs and oversees the finance unit of Yale’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and is the financial spokesman for the department. This position reports directly the Director of Athletics with a dual report to Vice President of Finance and University Chief Financial Officer.
The Senior Associate Athletic Director/ Chief Financial Steward provides in-depth and comprehensive financial analysis, developing and executing short and long term strategic financial plans that align the department’s goals to contribute to fiscal growth and sustainability. Drives and leads the financial vision for the department, including forecasting and budgeting processes. Ensures accuracy, transparency, and realistic financial projections. Analyzes financial activities and performance against budget, makes adjustments and takes action as needed.
This role manages the internal control systems to safeguard financial assets of the department and ensure financial activities are in compliance with state, federal, Ivy and NCAA policies. Recommends and implements improvements to ensure the integrity of the financial information. Works proactively to mitigate internal and external audit risks. Serve as lead staff on all Audit/Finance Committees.
Responsible for building and managing a team of high-performance administrative and financial professionals within the Athletics Business Office.

Minimum of a bachelor's degree and ten years progressively responsible experience 5 of which are in a leadership role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten years of progressively responsible financial management experience, including at least five years in a leadership role within FP&A, strategic finance, or higher education financial planning. Strong background in financial reporting and presentation of financial results. Masters degree; experience in higher education.
$120,000-$260,000
