About the MAS Women’s Sport Centre & Education City Stadium

The Qatar Foundation has a vision to position the State of Qatar as a global leader in the development of women’s sports by providing the best facilities, programmes, and opportunities, ensuring that women and girls benefit from the full advantages of sports. The Qatar Foundation’s Education City campus is home to two entities which drive this vision – the MAS Women’s Sport Centre and Education City Stadium.

The MAS Women’s Sport Centre develops and runs a broad range of sporting programmes spanning elite to community level, working in partnership with international entities such as the IOC and NBA. MAS elite pathways currently exist for athletics, volleyball, fencing, basketball and tennis, whilst over 46,000 women and girls benefit from the centre’s facilities and community programmes. The MAS Women’s Sports Centre also serves as a leading light in research and innovation across women’s sport.

In addition, the Education City Stadium, the iconic 40,000+ capacity “Diamond in the Desert” venue from FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, continues to host international and community events in sport, education, and culture. Its legacy plan will see Education City Stadium become globally recognised as the leading destination for women’s sport, whilst on site attractions and a diverse event calendar will drive year round revenue.

Together, this partnership of leading-edge sporting programmes and a world class venue position Qatar Foundation as a global leader in inclusive sporting excellence.
