ZRG appoints Bill Trau as Managing Director, Techology Practice
ROCHELLE PARK, NJ – ZRG is pleased to announce that Bill Trau has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Executive Search practice, where he will focus on leadership placements across the technology and industrial sectors.
Bill brings more than 25 years of executive search experience and has successfully placed more than 400 C-suite and VP-level executives across multiple industries. His work has centered on helping organizations identify leaders who can guide growth, transformation, and operational scale in complex markets. Bill has deep experience across the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications landscape, as well as advanced manufacturing and semiconductor sectors.
Prior to joining ZRG, Bill was a founding Senior Partner at Kingsley Gate. Earlier in his career, he served as Partner and head of the North American Semiconductor practice at Heidrick & Struggles. Across his career, Bill has developed a reputation for combining rigorous market insight with a hands-on approach that supports both clients and candidates throughout the search and transition process.
Bill also played a role in advancing search methodology and client experience within the industry. Earlier in his career, he helped author a widely adopted 40-day search methodology and participated in firmwide initiatives designed to strengthen client management practices and search quality standards.

Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Ohio State University. He is based in ZRG’s Cleveland and Silicon Valley offices.
