Larry Lewellen is The Registry Division Advisor, Senior Consultant, Consulting Human Resources Practice Leader, and Member at ZRG The Registry, a division of ZRG’s Education, Nonprofit, and Social Impact practice. He brings extensive experience in human resources strategy, organizational performance, culture and leadership development, and higher education transformation.
His recent interim Chief Human Resources Officer assignments include Connecticut College, St. Petersburg College, Brandeis University, and the University of Maine, where his work has included reorganizing HR systems, structures, and staffing, elevating the office’s role and service model, strengthening institutional integration, and recruiting long-term CHROs.
Earlier in his career, Larry spent nearly 30 years at The Ohio State University, including 14 years as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for the university and medical center. His work spanned compensation, benefits, labor relations, executive compensation, enterprise systems, leadership development, strategic planning, wellness, talent, and enterprise-wide culture transformation. He also held HR and organizational performance roles with a Fortune 1000 electronics firm.
Larry holds an MBA in Finance and an undergraduate degree in business management and human resources. His experience bridges higher education, healthcare, public sector reform, and private sector human resources leadership.
