Lawrence “Larry” Krema joined ZRG as a Managing Director in 2023, serving the Human Resources Officers and Real Estate practice groups. He has more than 20 years of leadership and recruitment experience and serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives and boards on talent, leadership development, succession planning, and culture.

In his successful career as a public company CHRO, Larry has worked with executive teams and boards, addressing talent and culture issues and developing human capital strategies that drive individual, team, and organizational performance. Clients appreciate his capacity for assessing an individual’s knowledge and experience as well as their ability to be a good culture and organizational fit.

Larry has successfully completed senior level HR searches across multiple industries including manufacturing, consumer products, health services, industrial, and real estate.

Prior to joining the firm, Larry garnered search experience as a Managing Director for both Allegis Partners and Ferguson Partners. In addition, he has acquired specialized insight within the real estate sector, having served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Simon Property Group and Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Equity Office Properties Trust. Larry began his career with leadership positions with Macy’s, The Limited, and L Brands.

Larry earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University and his MBA from Texas A&M University.

Hobbies and Interests

In his free time, Larry can be found cooking, golfing, running, traveling, and cheering on Chicago’s professional sports teams. He is actively involved in various industry and professional associations, as well as a number of charity and philanthropic organizations. He and his wife, Julie, reside just outside of Chicago with their three teenage kids.
