Ed Whipple joined ZRG as a Managing Director in 2020, bringing over 15 years of experience in talent advisory and C-suite retained search. As a core member of ZRG’s Professional & Technology Services and Financial Officers practices, Ed has a track record of delivering results for clients through talent strategy, management development, and talent acquisition. His work focuses on key recruitment and succession planning assignments across an array of C-Suite functions, including CEOs, CFOs, CROs, CMOs, CTOs, principals, practice leaders, and senior vice president-level positions such as Chief Accounting Officers and Heads of FP&A, among other executive leadership and succession appointments. He has served clients across management consulting, business services, technology services, and digital services organizations.

Ed applies proven techniques throughout the executive search process to deliver efficient results and is recognized by clients as a trusted advisor who continually seeks new ways to create value through data and technology. He brings functional knowledge and understanding of key trends across the technology and digital landscape, including cybersecurity, cloud engineering, managed services, application modernization, product engineering, and AI/ML.

Prior to joining ZRG, Ed served as a consultant within the Global Business Services Practice of one of the largest retained executive search firms. His client ecosystem includes private equity-owned and venture capital-backed companies, small-cap and large-cap public companies, and family-owned businesses.

Over his career, Ed has completed more than 250 retained search assignments and built an extensive network of executives across the Professional & Technology Services, Technology, Healthcare Services, Industrial Services, and GovCon sectors. He also specializes in partnering with clients on multiple concurrent assignments, including senior leadership team build-outs, C-suite succession planning, and the launch of new service-line offerings.

Ed graduated from Virginia Tech University’s Pamplin College of Business, earning dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

Ed is married with two children and lives in Atlanta, Georgia, where he volunteers in the community and enjoys cheering on his Virginia Tech Hokies.
