Alberto Herrero is a Managing Director in ZRG’s Financial Services practice, based in Madrid. He advises leading Spanish and international organizations—including investment banks, asset managers, wealth management firms, private equity sponsors, and global law firms—on strategic talent matters across Europe, the U.S., and Latin America. Alberto has led complex mandates at the C-suite and board level, helping clients execute succession strategies, strengthen governance, and build high-performing leadership teams.

Alberto brings more than two decades of leadership experience in executive search. Prior to joining ZRG, he led Blacksmith, a highly regarded Spanish boutique specializing in financial services and professional services search, for 23 years. Following its integration into N2Growth, he led the firm’s Spain operations and served as Global Head of the Financial Services Practice.

Earlier in his career, Alberto held roles at Deutsche Bank and Banco Popular. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Salamanca.

Outside of work, Alberto enjoys basketball, fitness, and padel. He values time with his wife, Judit, and their three children, Alberto, Jacobo, and Chloe, and has a strong personal interest in modern art and wine.
