With 30 years of higher education and healthcare leadership experience, Alan is a trusted advisor, consultant, and recruiter for public and private universities, colleges, healthcare systems, hospitals, cancer centers, and their associated professional organizations. His clients span the spectrum of academic medicine and health sciences, healthcare, and all of academia. Whether recruiting CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, Administrators, Deans, Department Chairs, Endowed Chairs, Research Scholars, or Program Faculty, Alan ensures that he and his team understand his client's mission, culture, and strategic objectives prior to beginning an engagement. Alan's background in academic medicine enables him to quickly understand his clients' needs and identify targeted and timely solutions.

Prior to executive and academic recruitment, Alan's career included tenures with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (CFO and Associate Vice Dean), Duke University School of Medicine (Associate Dean for Strategic Services and Chief Academic Administrative Officer for Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center), Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia Campus (Assistant Vice President – Financial and Administrative Affairs), and Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (Assistant Dean for Business Affairs). He strives to maintain strong relationships with his prior colleagues.

Alan leads the Academic Healthcare and Research Practice within ZRG's broader Healthcare Practice. Alan's areas of expertise are healthcare, academic health sciences (schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, health professions, and public health), general academia, and cancer center administration and research.

He received his BSBA from the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida and his MPA from the University of North Florida. Additionally, Alan completed an Advanced Program for Executive Search Consulting (AESC) at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
