The Humane League

The Humane League (THL) is seeking an Associate Vice President of Philanthropy who will help lead their Development department by overseeing its global donor relations work, including all one-to-one donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The AVP will be responsible for generating over half of THL’s annual fundraising revenue, and play a critical role in advancing sustainable, mission-aligned growth for a high-impact organization working to end the abuse of animals raised for food.

The Associate Vice President of Philanthropy will drive a relationship-centered, portfolio-based fundraising strategy focused on major gifts, mid-level growth, planned giving, and long-term donor value. This role will lead and coach a team of Philanthropy Officers while also serving as a frontline fundraiser, managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors and securing five- to seven-figure gifts. The AVP must have deep expertise in donor strategy, including experience guiding complex solicitations, advising senior leadership and Board members, and strengthening fundraising capabilities across the organization.
