Position Summary
The Vice President of Creative Strategy & Production is a senior leader who sets the strategic direction and organizational vision for the Minnesota Vikings' creative, content, production, and game presentation functions. This leader builds and leads high-performing teams, cultivates a strong creative culture, and ensures the Vikings brand is brought to life with consistency, quality, and purpose across all platforms and experiences. This role operates within a highly collaborative marketing ecosystem, partnering closely across Brand Marketing, Digital Strategy, Communications, Football Operations, and Business Strategy & Analytics to ensure creative strategy is aligned, insight-driven, and effectively prioritized. This work is done in alignment with our collective goals, including winning championships. The Vice President partners closely with the Vice President of Brand Marketing & Fan Engagement and the Vice President of Partnerships & Premium Experience to ensure fan insights, brand strategy, creative storytelling, and partner integration operate cohesively across the marketing ecosystem.
Scope of Role
As a key member of the Marketing leadership team, this executive provides strategic direction and people-first leadership across the Vikings' creative, content production, and live entertainment functions. This leader builds and sustains a high-performing creative organization, drives alignment across the marketing ecosystem, and ensures consistent, excellent execution across all creative and production areas. The right person for this role leads through others, develops talent, and translates brand strategy and fan insights into differentiated content and entertainment experiences that expand the fan base, strengthen brand affinity, and unlock media and content monetization opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Creative Strategy & Storytelling
- Provide strategic leadership and organizational vision for creative development and content across digital, broadcast, and live entertainment platforms.
- Set the creative standard and ensure the team delivers original, compelling storytelling that reflects the Vikings brand and strengthens fan connection.
- Champion inclusive and accessible storytelling that resonates across diverse fan communities.
- Guide the team in developing original programming, documentary storytelling, and digital-first content initiatives, ensuring quality and brand alignment at every level.
Production, Broadcast & Game Presentation
- Provide executive leadership across production, broadcast programming, and game presentation.
- Oversee planning and execution of broadcast shows, digital programming, and in-stadium entertainment.
- Provide strategic oversight and partnership in the management, optimization, and future planning of high-value production assets and infrastructure across Twin Cities Orthopedic Performance Center and U.S. Bank Stadium, including studio capabilities, control rooms, and in-venue digital systems.
- Ensure operational excellence across production planning, scheduling, budgeting, and creative execution.
- Deliver best-in-class fan entertainment experiences at Vikings games and major events.
Content Monetization & Media Opportunities
- Partner with business leaders to develop branded content and storytelling opportunities for corporate partners.
- Identify opportunities to monetize Vikings content through media partnerships, distribution, and sponsorship integration.
- Support the strategic use of Vikings media assets in alignment with league and media rights partnerships.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead a senior leadership team consisting of the Senior Creative Director of Content & Design, Senior Director of Production & Game Presentation, and Senior Director of Broadcast & Original Content.
- Build and sustain a culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement where people do their best work.
- Partner with People and Culture to build, support, and sustain teams where inclusion is prioritized and individuals are developed and empowered to thrive.
- Lead with a growth mindset, empathy, grit, adaptability, and resilience, modeling these behaviors across the team.
- Build trust and strong relationships across all levels of the organization through effective communication and leadership presence.
- Balance advocacy for team members with alignment to organizational culture, values, and direction.
- Develop and support talent through clear pathways for growth and leadership development.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner closely with the Vice President of Brand Marketing & Fan Engagement and the Digital Marketing & Content Strategy team to translate brand strategy, fan insights, and campaign priorities into aligned content development plans.
- Work in close collaboration with Brand Marketing and Digital Strategy to establish clear content priorities, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives, audience insights, and creative execution.
- Collaborate with Business Strategy & Analytics (BSA) to incorporate data, insights, and audience intelligence into content strategy, storytelling, and game presentation decisions.
- Partner with the Communications Department to ensure alignment of content with media relations strategy, external messaging, and football-related communications.
- Work closely with Football Operations to ensure content appropriately reflects football priorities, supports team objectives, and aligns with access, timing, and messaging considerations.
- Partner with Revenue teams, including Partnerships and Ticketing to integrate corporate partner opportunities and support broader revenue-driving initiatives through content and experiences.
- Foster a collaborative, team-first approach to creative development, ensuring strong communication, alignment, and shared ownership across all key stakeholder groups.
- Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Salary Range
$235,000 - $265,000
Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in a creative, content, production, or entertainment environment, with demonstrated success building and leading high-performing organizations.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and managing high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction, build organizational systems, and translate vision into consistent, high-quality execution at scale.
- Strong understanding of creative and production disciplines across sports, media, entertainment, or a comparable environment.
- Ability to translate brand strategy and fan insights into compelling, cohesive storytelling and innovative content experiences.
- Experience driving content monetization initiatives and cultivating high-value media, partnership, or commercial opportunities.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence at the leadership level and remain credible with staff at all levels.
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel as needed.
