Don Kuemmeler, Co-Founder & Senior Managing Partner; Bryan Thornton, Managing Partner | PCCP LLC
Don Kuemmeler, Co-Founder and Senior Managing Partner, and Bryan Thornton, Managing Partner, of PCCP, discuss the market, their business, and the values and partnerships within the real estate industry that have fueled their success.
PCCP LLC, Pacific Coast Capital Partners, is a commercial real estate investment management company that now has about $25 billion in AUM. The firm has long invested both in debt and equity across the real estate spectrum.
Don was a co-founder of the company in 1998, along with two other leaders from Wells Fargo's real estate team, alongside Bill Lindsey, who joined from the legal side. Don, Bill, and Bryan, one of the company's next-generation leaders, now manage the business. Don and Bryan view the PCCP as different from the mega firms, focusing more on providing debt and equity capital stack solutions to the middle market largely in the traditional real estate "food-group" asset classes.
The theme of cultivating long-term relationships and being a flexible, creative capital provider to long-term partners is a fixture in this conversation, a recurrent message on the Leading Voices Podcast. Don and Bryan both emphasize the importance of bringing strong value and partnership to the table to create these relationships, a timeless piece of wisdom for all leaders to embrace.
