Position Summary
The Brooklyn Cyclones are seeking an experienced, results-oriented executive to serve as President of the club. The President is accountable for the club's overall business performance, brand, and day-to-day leadership, setting strategic direction, owning financial and operational results, and representing the organization to the New York Mets, Minor League Baseball, local government, community partners, and fans. The President leads the clubs senior leadership team while providing strategic and operational oversight across ticket sales, corporate partnerships, marketing, food & beverage, merchandise, and stadium operations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading a large-scale consumer, sports, or hospitality business, with a proven record of driving revenue, developing teams, and cultivating key stakeholder relationships. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Regional Vice President (RVP), Northeast Region.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary local leader and public face of the Brooklyn Cyclones, representing the club and DBH within the community, to league partners, and to the media
- Own the club's annual budget and P&L performance, setting and driving revenue and expense targets in partnership with DBH finance leadership
- Direct all club business operations, including ticket sales & service, corporate partnerships, marketing & promotions, food & beverage/concessions, merchandise, and stadium operations
- Maintain the Club’s compliance with Major League Baseball’s Professional Development License (PDL), including facility, player development, and operational standards
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable the club's senior leadership team in setting priorities and ensuring execution against club and DBH goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the New York Mets (MLB affiliate), Minor League Baseball, city and county officials, community organizations, and key business partners
- Partner with DBH corporate departments to ensure club operations align with organizational policies and initiatives
- Drive fan experience, attendance, and revenue-growth initiatives across the club
- Oversee staffing decisions for senior club leadership, including hiring, performance management, and separation decisions, in partnership with HR and Legal
- Lead crisis management and issue resolution for significant club matters, escalating to the RVP, HR, and/or Legal as appropriate
- Ensure club operations comply with applicable employment laws, DBH policies, and MiLB/MLB regulations
- All other duties as assigned
Salary Range
$225,000-$250,000 with bonus.
Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years as the #1 or #2 leader of a consumer-facing business with 100,000+ customers and a team of 10+ across multiple functions, with demonstrated improvement in customer experience and financial outcomes
- Experience operating a consumer, entertainment, or hospitality business in a large U.S. metropolitan market; New York market experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to attract high-caliber talent to an organization, in addition to developing and holding an existing team accountable
- Strong financial and analytical literacy, with fluency across revenue, attendance, EBITDA, employee engagement, staff turnover, and fan-experience metrics; experience setting and achieving budgeted goals
- Proven track record building relationships with MLB/MiLB affiliates, government and community stakeholders, and corporate partners
- Food & beverage experience, with an understanding of how F&B can elevate the customer experience
- Experience managing a combined full-time and seasonal workforce
- Comfort using digital tools and data to drive sales, marketing, and operational performance, and a willingness to think creatively about customer acquisition, fan engagement, and stadium experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- A leadership style that constructively challenges established practices and drives continuous improvement, paired with strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and the ability to lead by example
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during the baseball season
