Shannon Loew, Vice President of Global Workforce Solutions at Amazon on Leading Voices in Real Estate

3/17/2025

Shannon Loew | Vice President of Global Workforce Solutions, Amazon

Shannon Loew, Amazon’s Vice President of Global Workforce Solutions, discusses his global role leading the real estate aspects for Amazon's 340,000 person office workforce and the company’s return to office policy.

Recorded on March 12 at Amazon’s South Lake Union campus in Seattle, this conversation with Shannon is only the second Leading Voices episode with a corporate real estate leader.

Shannon oversees Amazon’s office workplace portfolio, made up of 340,000 people at 550 addresses, in 65 million square feet, in 70 countries. For context, this represents less than half of Amazon's global workforce numbers, since this does not include Amazon’s fulfillment or data center verticals.

Amazon is one of the highest profile companies to now require five days a week in the office. Shannon dives deeply into the importance of this decision and the power of people spending time together in person, “better together” and its ripple effects of helping bring back our downtowns. Shannon also highlights the critical role that the workplace environment plays in meeting the company’s core values and their strategic plan behind placing Amazon’s offices in cities, and the impact on our communities.

Shannon’s insights as a corporate real estate leader at one of the most innovative companies on the planet is fascinating and important to consider as we navigate the real estate industry today.
