Lew Horne & David Waite | the LA Wildfires
Lew Horne, President for Advisory Services for CBRE in the Pacific Southwest, and David Waite, a Partner at Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP discuss Project Recovery, a roadmap for rebuilding after January’s LA wildfires.
This episode is really a two-part discussion, not only about recovering from the LA Fires but also the industry’s important role in setting the bar and taking action when disaster strikes our communities. Lew Horne, President for Advisory Services for CBRE in the Pacific Southwest, is also the current Chair of the Los Angeles ULI Council. David Waite is an attorney at Cox, Castle & Nicholson, a leading California real estate law firm.
Lew and David collaborated to bring together 100 leading experts to analyze and make actionable recommendations after the devastating fires last January. ULI, The UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate, and the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate sponsored the report, which is titled Project Recovery: Rebuilding Los Angeles after the January 2025 Wildfires. Lew and David’s comprehensive report is a blueprint that our industry can bring to the table in future disasters and demonstrates how our industry can lift up and strengthen our communities during the most critical moments.
I hope you are inspired by Lew and David’s purpose-driven vision and reflect on how you and your company can get involved in these ongoing challenges.
