Cedric Bobo, Co-Founder and CEO of Project Destined, and Adrian Foley, Managing Partner in Brookfield’s Real Estate Group and President and CEO of Brookfield Properties’ development group, discuss how his training and education nonprofit has transformed lives and businesses through real world experience.

Project Destined provides training, mentorship, internships and early career opportunities for young students, particularly students of color and military veterans, entering into the real estate business. Today, Project Destined works with over 250 firms in the real estate business and has brought 12,000 students through its program.

My original interview with Cedric back in 2019 was more of a coming out party for Project Destined; five years later, the organization is in full stride and is working with organizations across the real estate business to bring  training and career opportunities, in all aspects of the business, to his students. Cedric and I are joined in the conversation by Adrian, who brings insights about how Project Destined students are making a real impact on the industry. Brookfield is one of the original partners and he is one of the deepest collaborators in the program, so Adrian’s perspective highlights how Project Destined has gone beyond doing good, to facilitating good business.

Cedric and Adrian offer a vision of how the resilience of the human spirit, well-ordered resources, and intentionally structured opportunities can come together to result in a meaningful win for everyone.
