Pac-12 Conference selects TurnkeyZRG to support search for next commissioner

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference announced today the selection of top talent recruitment firm TurnkeyZRG to support the Conference in the search for its next Commissioner. The Pac-12 previously announced on January 20 that following ongoing discussions between its governing executive committee, its presidents and Commissioner Larry Scott that it was mutually agreed that the Commissioner would not seek a new contract following an 11-year tenure, continuing in the role until June 30, 2021 to assist with the transition.

“The Pac-12 represents world-leading member universities whose commitment to academic and athletic excellence have made us the ‘Conference of Champions,’” said Pac-12 CEO Group Chair and University of Oregon President Michael Schill.  “We have seen remarkable growth over the past many years, and are poised for future success on behalf of our more than 7,000 student-athletes.  We have tremendous confidence in TurnkeyZRG to assist us in conducting the extensive, inclusive and innovative search process they’re known for.  We’re looking forward to identifying a highly accomplished and diverse pool of candidates from which to select our next commissioner.”

TurnkeyZRG is the recently merged combination of Turnkey Search and ZRG, announced just last week. Turnkey, founded in 1996, is one of the top talent recruitment/executive search firm in sports, entertainment and media, with more than 1,400 placements at pro sports teams, leagues, stadiums, arenas, theaters, college athletic departments, events, sponsors, agencies, media companies and private equity, among others. Collectively, the members of TurnkeyZRG have placed coaches and athletics directors at many Pac-12 universities, including Arizona, Cal, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington and Washington State.  Also, in December TurnkeyZRG completed the ACC search, helping the ACC hire its next commissioner.

The Pac-12 Commissioner search will commence immediately with the intention of the new commissioner being in place by the end of the current academic year.
